Motor Officers who meet the qualification and certification requirements of an 80 Hour Training Course held at Highway Patrol Headquarters in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania earn a unique set of Highway Wings.
These Highway Wings symbolize the qualifications of the Motor Officer, not only skilled in the safe operation of the Police Motorcycle, but professional in their character, integrity and appearance.
Members of the Philadelphia Highway Patrol Motorcycle Drill Team earn a star above their Highway Wings symbolizing the added level of skill and training involved in precision riding and stunt maneuvers.
Highway Wings are typically displayed on the right breast of your regulation uniform above you name plate or at the directive of your law enforcement agency.
About Our Program
Wheel School
The Philadelphia Highway Patrol Police Motorcycle Training ("Wheel School") was established in the early 1950's and is home of the "Highway Patrol Drill Team". Our training center is located in the Northeast section of Philadelphia at Highway Patrol Headquarters.
Our Fleet
Our Program provides Harley Davidson Road King Motorcycles for training purposes.
Training Course
Our 80-Hour Program consists of 9 cone courses and is instructed by Certified Police Motorcycle Instructors.
